Sandra Amorosi is an Australian musician and emerging writer with a deep passion for storytelling through both music and words.
Her creative journey began in the world of opera under the tutelage of the late Wagnerian tenor Jon Weaving. Trained as a dramatic soprano, Sandra developed a profound connection with the raw emotional depth of opera and orchestral music. As a student at the Victorian College of the Arts, she appeared in the early segments of Operatunity Oz (ABC) and went on to produce several acclaimed concerts in Melbourne. She also performed in renowned operas, including Pagliacci (Leoncavallo), Cavalleria Rusticana (Mascagni), L’Elisir d’Amore (Donizetti), Un Ballo in Maschera (Verdi), and Madama Butterfly (Puccini).
Expanding her artistic reach, Sandra ventured into film and television, contributing to productions such as Blue Heelers (Southern Star Group), Neighbours (Grundy Television), Bastard Boys (ABC), Queen of the Damned (Warner Bros. Pictures), and Knowing (Summit Entertainment). She also composed musical scores for various student films, further showcasing her versatility as an artist.
Currently, Sandra is pursuing a Bachelor of Creative Writing at Deakin University while working on a range of creative projects.
